After being glued to our TV sets for hours (some of you may have chosen to watch it in malls), Filipinos all over — whether boxing aficionados or not — are one in saying that the national anthem, Lupang Hinirang, was, at last sang the right way.

I’ve always wondered, though, isn’t that perpetual RP flag bearer St. Johnite Cris. A. of Leonardo’s proudly waving the colors to Kyla’s rendition (TOP PHOTO)? I forgot now how many batches ahead of us Cris was.

He’s always seen next to Manny Pacquiao in most pictures and footages, probably the only St. Johnite within an arm’s length of Pacquiao, besides lower batch PBL Commissioner Chino Trinidad of GMA-7.(BOTTOM PHOTO).

I think it’s healthy that these St. Johnites, as like most of us, are doing jobs they know best and are truly enjoying it. Cheers to them! Cheers to us!
